Abstract:
Photometric observations in the uvbyβ system of A-F type stars in the Pleiades cluster have been performed in order to detect pulsating variable stars of γ Doradus type in the lower part of the Cepheid instability strip. In order to obtain more information about the behaviour of the studied objects and to be able to distinguish between long period variable and non-variable stars, two statistical methods have been developed. Several of these stars show some type of variability but only two of the observed objects, H1284 and S29, can be safely classified as 7 Dor stars. Furthermore, these observations have provided us with Strmgren and Hβ photometry, non-existing up to now for some of them, which permitted us to perform a photometric study of the Pleiades cluster.
