  • I am an astronomer of Mexican origin working at the Instituto de Astrofisica de Andalucia (IAA-CSIC), Granada, Spain since 2002. My research is focused on the origin of planets and stars. I am in the group of radioastronomers led by Guillem Anglada Pons where I am in charge of calculating radiative transfer models to interpret radio observations. I have special interest in detecting and predicting signatures of protoplanets. I am also interesting in massive and triggered star formation. My favorite objects are in Sagittarius, Taurus and Orion. Actually, Orion is an excellent laboratory to study the processes that lead to the formation of stars and planets due to its members having a diversity of ranges of masses and ages, all of them located at a common distance. Also I belong to the Herschel Orion Protostellar Survey (HOPS) team, led by Tom Megeath (USA), where we try to understand the complex Orion protostars using observations taken with different instruments (Herschel, HST, Spitzer, APEX, ALMA, SOFIA, VLA, etc).
