If we cannot save Galapagos, what can we save?

The title of this talk evokes a common question in conservation circles, which highlights the privileged place of the Galapagos Islands as a laboratory of evolution and a jewel of biodiversity. A jewel that, like many other natural areas, faces various threats related to human activity.

This talk is based on a travel book about the islands. In it we will see what is so special about the Galapagos, how the species that populate them came about, and why we must love them and, in the long run, save them.
