The first image of a black hole

The Horizon Event Telescope (EHT), a planetary-scale telescope made up of eight radio telescopes and forged through international collaboration, was designed to capture the first image of a black hole. In a series of simultaneous international press conferences on April 10, EHT researchers revealed that they had succeeded and showed the first direct visual evidence of a super-massive black hole and its shadow.
