The European VLBI Network (EVN) and user cases to improve your science

The European VLBI Network (EVN) is a network of radio telescopes located primarily in Europe and Asia, with additional antennas in South Africa and Puerto Rico. The combination of such extended network of telescopes provides an extremely high angular resolution (down to milliarcsecond scales). In addition to that, and given its unparalleled sensitivity on this type of observations, the EVN becomes a genuine instrument to observe an enormous variety of different objects.

In this talk I will perform a review of the EVN by detailing some of the last results obtained with it during the last years. I will show all user cases to which the EVN can be useful for any astronomer, specially in a multiwavelength context. Not only radio astronomers can make use of the EVN and in this talk we would provide to you the motivation to use the instrument to obtain unique results in any astronomical context, from stellar physics, or Galactic studies, to extragalactic, or transient, observations.
